After completing 51 speciality coffee newsletters on the trot in the past 51 weeks, I wanted to bring in a new flavour this week with my Top10 lists.

Let’s start with The Netherlands, where I possibly explored the subject the most. I also recognize that there are some real all-time favourites which need to be on this list but since I did not visit them so far, they do not feature over here!

Important Tip for the first timers visiting Amsterdam or The Netherlands in general: When you like to have a Coffee, you always go to a Coffee Place or a Coffee House or a Cafe’ as Coffeeshops here sell coffees & teas along with cannabis (Perfectly legal).

I considered five criteria before arriving at the list:

Coffees: Variety of Beans from world over
Variety of Coffee Preparation Methods: just batch brews is a strict no-no for me
Cafe’ Design - Ambience - Seating - The Buzz
Food pairing with the coffee
Overall, enthusiasm & hospitality of the staff
