Bocca in Italian language means the opening in the head by which a human or animal eats and speaks or makes noises. Indeed a very unique name for a coffee place.
Bocca Coffee was founded by a Simon brothers from The Netherlands. These Dutchmen began their search for the perfect coffee bean from the birthplace of Coffee – Ethiopia back in time. They are considered as the first ever specialty coffee roaster in the country to manage the whole bean-to-cup process. To begin with in 2001, like many coffee profs, they began roasting coffee on a small 15kg Probat roaster in the garage.
Quickly, the word was out about their high quality & unique roasting profiles and they started supplying to local cafés and restaurants. And before too long, Bocca grew to be one of the biggest specialty coffee roasters in the country.
As you step into the this coffee place, natural light fills the interior with high ceilings reminding you of a renovated warehouse with white walls. The seating is spacious with a mix of bar seating and cosy sofas.

But there is one name in particular, that has stood the test of time: Probat. In existence and producing coffee roasters since the late 1800’s, Probat is the oldest continually operating coffee roaster manufacturer in the world.
