'Feel at Home' with 'Coffee Fellows'
One of the best coffee chains from Deutschland serving Specialty Coffees
The first Coffee Fellows café opened in Leopoldstraße in Munich in 1999. It was founded as a family business by Kathrin and Stefan Tewes. It amazes a lot of people that Coffee Fellows is a German concept, but exactly that, together with family management, is the base of their success.
The headquarters of the German coffee shop chain is located in Unterföhring. Presently, Coffee Fellows as a franchisor is running more than 230 coffee shops in Germany and Europe, 130 of which can be found at petrol station and rest area locations since 2017.
High-quality coffee specialties as well as traditionally prepared bagels rank first as core products. In addition to first-class coffee pleasure, Coffee Fellows stands for trendy and cosy furnishings, satisfying the motto „feel at home“
The Coffee Fellows café I visited was in Den Haag, The Netherlands pretty close to Centraal Station. Besides their High-quality coffee specialties what I really liked about this place was a very nice Co-Working style seating with plenty of options to catch up with friends or do business meetings, making you “feel at office”
Knowing their penchant for milk-based coffees, I checked out Flat White with Tolima Organic coffee beans.
Tolima Organic Espresso
The coffee farmers of the ASOBRIS cooperative grow hand-picked coffee in organic quality. The Colombian Tolima Organic Espresso is single origin, sun-dried and dark roasted. Its distinct caramel, chocolate and vanilla notes come to the fore in an unobtrusive way. In milk drinks, the Tolima Organic Espresso is rather mild, but still tasty.
Certified organic: The producer association from Colombia includes 25 villages that have set themselves the goal of producing specialty coffee in the best organic quality and with sustainable practices.
100% Arabica: The cooperative cultivates the varieties Caturra, Colombia, Tipica and Castillo for Tolima organic espresso. These are also responsible for the excellent taste. The caramel, chocolate and vanilla notes underpin the creamy body and characterize this first-class espresso specialty.
Single Origin: For the espresso, only the best coffee beans from the defined cultivation area in Tolima in Colombia are processed. The espresso is grown at an altitude of 1,500 - 1,800 meters at the foot of the snow-capped peak of Nevado del Huila, the highest volcano in Colombia. In this way, Coffee Fellows can guarantee consistent quality, which is reflected in the taste.
Fantastic taste: The Tolima espresso tastes particularly good and intense from the portafilter machine and the fully automatic coffee machine. In dairy drinks, it assumes a mild but nevertheless tasty role.
