Discover the true story of Willem of Orange with the best coffee from Miss Morrison
Here goes Delft, the Design & Tech Capital of The Netherlands
Welcome to the small historical town of Delft, The Netherlands which houses the coffee roastery: Miss Morrison. The passion of the owner Cisca Colijn is as simple as it is gets: to let people enjoy their daily cup of coffee. This is what drives her, and this is why she started Miss Morrison back in 2014.
Miss Morrison is indeed the coffee roaster of Delft, and you can find them easily on Voorstrat. The city roastery is open every Saturday from 09:00 to 17:00 and you can drop by for a fresh cup of coffee, which is exactly what I did before taking off for Saturday weekend ride with my Dutch friends :-)
Learning from the Italians
Cisca has vast experience in coffee. But when she wanted to start on her own, she decided to go to Italy first to learn more from the roasters there to get a flavour of Italian coffee culture. Here she discovered the passion for roasting and it became clear that she needed to roast coffee herself if she wanted to serve the best cup of coffee in Delft.
Education on Coffee
At Miss Morrison they value the story of the coffee. Where does the coffee come from? What if a harvest fails? Who are the farmers that cultivate the coffee plantations? These are questions worth asking. This is why Cisca makes sure that her supplier buys coffee directly from the plantations in the country of origin, so the provenance is ensured, and the farmers receive a fair price. To share their knowledge and passion for coffee there are ‘Workshops’ every 6-8 weeks on Saturday mornings. Everyone who is interested about coffee is welcome to attend and hear the story behind the best daily cup of coffee.
Workshops
Do you really want to learn how to set up your espresso machine as well as possible? Why you should look for a 'mouse tail' when your coffee flows out of the piston, are you done with those crappy cappuccinos, or do you just want to delve into the taste of coffee?? Miss Morrison can help you! They update your knowledge about coffee, teach you what to look for if you want to make a good espresso and give you tips and tricks for moving milk well for the perfect cappuccino. Guaranteed that you go home with the right technique to, from then on, start your day off every weekend with the tastiest coffee.
