What started as a small roastery in the old industrial district of Southern Copenhagen back in 2013 grew bigger and bigger and, Copenhagen Coffee Lab began to open cafés. To begin with, it was only abroad. It started in Lisbon, but today the chain of cafés can be found in Hamburg, Cologne, Lisbon, Cannes and Paris, spread across 30+ locations as well as a single café on Strandlodsvej on Amager in the hometown
For Copenhagen Coffee Lab innovation, flavour and quality are always in prime focus.
The Founders have themselves travelled around the world to select the right coffee farms, just as they have also trained the coffee farmers in how the beans should be selected and harvested to achieve the highest quality. And then the roasting itself is of course also fully optimized: At the end of 2021, the roastery moved into their current premises, where a brand-new coffee roaster was also taken into use. The special machine enables a much more controlled and gentle roasting, which allows the roasters to hit the exact right roast - every time.
This coffee comes from the organic farm Finca Ceylan in Guatemala, which Copenhagen Coffee Lab has been working with from the very beginning. The beans Dariush the owner always patrols his wild farm with a revolver on his hip. He is quite a character.
