Japanese and Scandinavian design styles both reflect the philosophy of ‘Less is More’. They celebrate craftsmanship, high quality, subtlety and add a totally new dimension to conveying premium without an iota of flaunt & glitz. When these two design styles come together, a unique concept called ‘Japandi’ is born, a fusion from the words: Japan & Scandinavia.
When I visited Apartment Coffee shop in Singapore for the first time, I was simply amazed at how the place was designed with clean lines, whites, beiges, earthy, woody colours and finishes for the interiors and furniture. The vibe in the coffeeshop was incredible.
I went back next time over a weekend & I had to stand in a queue to get seated inside. But the visits were worth the time & effort as the brew masters deliver amazing service and are always happy to recommend their specials.
Apartment is also unique as they don’t serve any food, just Specialty Coffees with beans sourced from all over the world - from prominent coffee growing regions of Costa Rica, Ethiopia, Kenya, Rwanda, Tanzania, Myanmar.
I tasted all of them, but really loved Kenya Kayu in V60, Manual Pour Over with tasting notes of Black Currant, Blackberry and Roselle.
I won’t hesitate to say ‘Mindful Coffee for your Health’, why because manual pour over filter coffee delivers the following health benefits:
1. Less cholesterol raising substances compared to French Press, Turkish Coffee and Espresso and all other espresso & milk-based coffees like Cappuccino, Café Latte, Flat White.
2. No sugar needed: The best way to enjoy manual brew is without sugar! This way, you can enjoy the original flavours of your chosen coffee bean with natural flavours giving you unique taste profiles to discover.
3. Transparency: When you drink coffee made with pods and capsules, it is most times difficult to understand what type of coffee you drink, where and how these coffees were grown. By drinking freshly ground coffee from a reputable roaster, you can trace the coffee all the way back to the source. Of course, we can also ensure that the farmer too is paid a fair price for their hard work.
Have a fabulous weekend! Stay Curious and Caffeinated. Arrivederci
